It’s a great relationship - we get along well together and they provide me with the products and service I need. It’s a relationship I want to keep going as long as I can,” says Paul. |
Today, his company has evolved into three distinct but synergistic divisions: Annan Digital Solutions, the prepress division; Annan & Sons Trade Lithographers, the printing division, and Accell Bindery Services, the bindery and finishing division. Together, these three companies provide a start-to-finish solutions that so many customers desire.
After over 50 years in the printing business (he spent 24 years in the business before starting Annan & Sons), Don has recently retired and has passed the torch on to his sons,
Paul Annan recalls working for his dad after school to earn “lunch money”, as he says, though he does admit that neither he nor his four brothers got paid the first year.
“It was a great learning experience and taught us tremendous discipline,” says Paul.
Annan adopted digital proofing two years ago when they brought in their Apogee workflow. They’ve recently added a third Agfa Sherpa to their digital proofing capabilities. In addition, they’ve upgraded the Macs in their prepress area to the new dual-processor G4s with matching cinema displays - which makes for a very impressive looking studio.
